Everyone has a story. Here’s Mine.
While you might know me as a travel writer and a certified holistic health coach, things didn't exactly start that way. For almost 10 years I was a gossip reporter. Yup, my life revolved around red carpets, fancy parties and Kim Kardashian. I'm not going to lie; it was fun for a while.
But then my world turned upside down.
On December 22, 2010, I learned my father died in a plane crash. Devastated, I tried everything to overcome my grief, from counseling to antidepressants. But I wanted more. I was tired of writing about other people's lives rather than living my own. And I sought a more balanced existence (less late-night parties) and began to refocus my life on health, wellness, and happiness.
So, finally, I quit my job in entertainment, faced my new fear of flying, and traveled the world.
I've since explored over 30 countries on all seven continents (including Antarctica while five months pregnant) writing for outlets like Conde Nast Traveler, Travel + Leisure, The New York Times, Departures, Architectural Digest and more. With each journey, I broke out of my haze of sadness and uncovered bliss in many forms.
I also started making healthier choices and became so in love with feeling good that I decided to go to school to learn all that I could (#typicalreporter). I graduated from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition in 2015, been certified by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners, and spent years coaching individuals and groups on transforming their daily lives into dream ones. I've been fortunate to do coaching on cruise ships and at renowned hotel chains around the world.
Oh, and one of my greatest adventures was welcoming my son Wilder in 2018.
